The party’s over
Last week I finished a gruelling three weeks visiting each of the party political conferences. And as we’ve all probably had more than enough of politics I thought I’d share the non political highlights. At the Lib Dems in Birmingham it was having my photograph taken with Hugh Grant. He was there talking about hacking. And he was certainly hacked off having his picture taken with me. At Labour in Liverpool it was sitting next to the Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger during Ed Milibands speech (the conference hall was packed and with 5 minutes to go the only free seat was next to me). As an occasional contributor to his paper I was delighted thinking that at last my chance had come for a regular column! At the end he said do contact me. So I did sending him 8 tweets and an email. But he’s obviously too polite or busy to reply. And the Tories in Manchester? It was visiting the War Correspondents exhibition at the Imperial War Museum North. Fabulous. And sitting on my hands during the Prime Ministers speech.
