Strange light in the night

The strange light in the night was a glow worm. I came across them while walking one evening in woods near my home. That eerie florescent green light is all about attracting the females.

Vulcan bomber and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

Short video from Wellesbourne Wings and Wheels airshow 2011 on 26 June in aid of the Avro Vulcan XM655. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight did a fly past to support the airshow. The Avro Vulcan XM655 was was one of the last v-bombers produced for the Royal Air Force and was part of the UK’s nuclear deterrent force throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

Germany should never again go to war over race or ideology, says the former Nazi paratrooper and legendary Manchester City goalkeeper, Bert Trautmann in an interview to mark the 70th anniversary of Operation Barbarossa, Hitler’s attack on Russia.

“Growing up in Hitler’s Germany, you had no mind of your own. You didn’t think of the enemy as people at first” says the 87 year old who won the Iron Cross for bravery on the Eastern Front and the OBE for fostering Anglo-German relations after the war. “Then, when you began taking prisoners, you heard them cry for their mother and father. You said ‘Oh’. When you met the enemy, he became a real person”.
