Royal honeymoon delayed

Apr 30, 2011   //   by Nicholas Milton   //   Blog  //  No Comments

Today Buckingham Palace announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton will not be going on honeymoon immediately. Instead William will return to work with the Royal Air Force next week after the bank holiday. However, they are still likely to go on honeymoon in the next few weeks when the media interest has died down. We are still hopeful that they will come to the Maldives.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed they will spend the bank holiday in the UK and then honeymoon overseas at a future date.  In the meantime the Maldives honeymoon site will continue to be regularly updated with news about William and Kates honeymoon plans.

The Royal honeymoon website has been launched at www.williamkatehoneymoon.com. To encourage Prince William and Catherine Middleton to visit the Maldives on their honeymoon, the government has sent them an official invitation. The invitation was sent to the royal couple last week and is awaiting a reply according to the Maldivian Tourism Minister, Dr. Mariyam Zulfa.

The invitation reflects not just the Maldivian people’s admiration for the Royal couple but the very close economic, cultural and political ties that the Maldives shares with Britain. If Prince William and Kate were to come they would joinover 80,000 British tourists who visited the islands last year on honeymoon or on holiday.

Royal honeymoon Maldives website

Apr 25, 2011   //   by Nicholas Milton   //   Blog, International  //  No Comments

I’m back in the Maldives again this time working on a Royal Wedding honeymoon website. The Maldives is one of the top honeymoon destinations in the world and is being tipped as one of the locations that the Royal couple may visit.  Although the actual location remains a closely guarded secret, the Maldivian government have sent the couple an official invitation. I’ve been asked to produce a website which will be a celebration of the couple and make the case for why they should come to the Maldives. It will seek also to take advantage of the huge online interest in the honeymoon location and at the same time promote the Maldives to new visitors.

William and Kate to honeymoon in the Maldives?

Apr 13, 2011   //   by Nicholas Milton   //   Blog, International  //  No Comments

It is the most talked about part of the Royal Wedding but is being kept a closely guarded secret. Where will William and Kate go on honeymoon? According to the press a long ‘short list’ is emerging which includes Kenya where William proposed, Australia where he teased reporters on a recent visit that he would see them again ‘in a few weeks time’, the Caribbean where the couple went in in 2009, Canada and locations closer to home such as Scotland and the Scilly Islands. However, the decision will probably be determined by where William and Kate can be guaranteed privacy from the hordes of papparzi and where the Royal household can guarantee their security. When you take into account these considerations as well as Williams love of scuba diving and Kates love of exotic islands then the Maldives comes out top of the list. Indeed rumours are already awash in the islands that the happy couple will be heading there, perhaps spending a week on a resort before going on to Australia.
